IntroductionGreat Blue Heron (Ardea Herodias)The Great Blue Heron is a migratory wading bird that is found in North America, Central America, the West Indies, and the Galapogos Islands. The Great Blue is the largest of the Heron species, and therefore widely followed, viewed, respected, and revered.The wingspan of the Great Blue Heron can reach up to 6 feet. The best way to identify the Great Blue is to look for long legs, and a long neck usually shaped like the letter "S" similar to the picture.
